65.K – Devotion

Have you ever seen a mighty waterfall that has a lot of power? It can break rocks, turn mills, or even generate electricity. How about a fire? They’re powerful too, and can shape metals or destroy forests. What is the most impressive power you can think of?

It might be easy to forget, but the Word of God is incredibly powerful. After all, it can bring the dead to life! The power of God’s Word can be seen in the life of Saul. His entire life changed when Jesus, the Word made flesh, spoke to Saul on the way to Damascus.

Saul had been arresting and killing Christians, and he was determined to do the same in Damascus. But after God’s Word reached him, Saul was changed forever. He received saving faith, eternal life, and a new mission.

Saul was also known as Paul as he began to travel to people who spoke Greek. He began to share the Word of God to others. He traveled, preached, taught, and wrote about God’s Word. In fact, many of Paul’s letters have become God’s Word, as they have been added to the Bible!

Many others who heard Paul share the Word of God were changed forever too. That’s powerful! How has the Word of God impacted your life? It is a joy for believers in Jesus to share the Word of God with others. Then, God does the work: using the Word to lead many to believe in Jesus, the Savior of the world.

  1. Where do you hear God’s Word?
  2. How can you share God’s Word?
  3. Can you think of a time when the Word of God has changed you?

Let’s pray:

Dear God, thank You for the power of Your Word! It gives power to water in Baptism and to bread and wine in the Lord’s Supper. It has the power to give faith, to give forgiveness, and to grant life! Please help me share this incredible gift of Your Word, and help me trust You to work through Your Word according to Your will. Amen.
